SPOTLIGHT Dr Doom

I love Victor Von Doom . This should not come as much as a surprise , since if you've read my description under my pictures & fanarts you might see that I have a fondness for villains whether they are batshit insane or entitled to their philosophy . So here's one of the most polyvalent Baddies of the Marvel Universe, & let's put his personality quirks now

#1. Doom is a Megalomaniac. A man with a serious Superiority Complex. He is the guy who knows he's better then everyone else, will continuously remind you of it, and uses it as an excuse to do whatever the hell he wants. Why shouldn't he take what you have? He's Better then You, he deserves it more!

#2. Doom is a Dictator. This is something you need to remember everytime they talk about how nicely Doom takes care of the people of Latveria. Yes, he makes sure they're all hale, healthy and well-fed. And yes, the latverians "spontaneously" demonstrated their love for Doom on a regular basis. However, you try to rebel against the guy or criticise him , start enjoying your last days on earth ...

#3. Doom's sense of Honor is Medieval at best. He sees himself as a monarch, and tries to act as such. This is why he keeps his word, and protects his latverian subjects as he does. One should not confuse this with actual honesty or compassion. He's intelligent enough never to make a bargain that he can't turn to his advantage (or at least believes so, & most of the time, he's right !), and his generosity comes at a serious price & his word might not be exactly what it seems to you.

#4. Doom's hatred of Reed Richards is an obsession he cannot overcome. Moreso then his ambitions of World Domination, the goal that most drives Doom is his obsession with proving he's better then Richards. It's not enough for him to just prove he's smarter anymore. It's not enough for him to just kill Richards anymore. He wants to BREAK Richards. He wants to make Reed's world collapse into ashes, then rub Reed's nose in it before finishing him off.

Now with that out of the way , I hope I stirred enough attention to start a discussion ( Come on guys ! It's been weeks since the last comment ! My profile is starving ! And I promise you most of the fanarts you'll see after this one , I swear I'm bringing my A-game ! )

Secret Wars : The Beyonder is powerful enough to create a world and transport cities and some of the most powerful heroes and villains to the world to compete for his pleasure. And driven by his sheer willpower, Doom was able to temporarily take over... for a moment

Emperor Doom: Doom uses the Purple Man's power to subjugate the entire world to his will, installing himself as absolute ruler of the world. Yes, his rule is benevolent and filled with admirable achievements... ...If one forgets that he has to rob all humanity of it's free will to achieve this goal. However he quits, seeing there's no challenge with such an easy rule ( NOTE ; Killgrave 's powers don't work that well when he's pissing himself in abject fear after seeing Doom unmasked !)

Unthinkable ; That was Doom whooping ass and taking names. He humilated Dr. Strange, Johnny , Sue & Ben , and punked Reed on another level. His speech to Reed in #499 at the end is simply legendary and the way he made Valeria was breathtaking (& trust me it's IN character )

Doom 2099 (28- 39 ) JF Moore 's story arcs are a pretty good establishment , but Warren Ellis perfected it with his run !
