My take on Harvey Dent

There's just one problem... You're talking to the wrong Harvey.

The only way to get by in this place is to get ourselves some respect... FEAR! That's how we get respect! Show them all how we do things!

Boy did I wait a long before talking about the other greatest Batman villain ! If the Joker is the spokesman for the egomaniac attention whore in all of us , Harvey is the one we can not help but pity : We know he is a great guy, he wants to clean the city of the criminal scum and mobs BUT there is the little problem of his broken psyche ( part of why I always held both him and the clown in high esteem ... If the Joker is drown in his own ego , Harvey is burnt by his murderous id .)
Now it seems that there were always 2 ways to write Two-Face : the man with a warring psyche OR the coin-flipping sociopath . One of the biggest Harvey fans around, John Hefner (His stuff is quite insightful [link] ) is not fond of the latter , and that is understandable [link] . I ,on the other hand , love both ways of handling Dent . Yes it is true that Harvey is much more appealing when the good part tries fighting back , but "Big Bad Harv " is still one of the most entertaining baddies around . There is something hilarious about Harvey acting as a bastard the way his dad was (making the rules of his game and manipulating it to his own advantage )
But as for my kanon , I decided to go with the way he was at the end of Hush (Yep I liked it . Sue me ...). DC never really took advantage of Harv as a whole (and seriously ? NO MENTION OF HIM IN 52 ? WHAT THE EVER-FLYING FUCK ?), and they brought back Two-face way too quickly ( I ignore Face the face ... way too sloppy for me ... Then again I left mainstream Bats with Heart of Hush , but my likings are the subject of another post ...)
I think that Harv as an ally for a time would be infinitely creepier since you know his other side is swimming in circles like a shark... His face may be repaired but the mind is another story altogether ...
