Description

I should point out that this part should be called Teenage metrosexual stand-using gangsters !  www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1TP1z…

Set in 2001 Italy, Giorno Giovanna is the son of DIO, sired after his resurrection (because DIO does not know or care about condoms. And because women to him are the equivalent of steaks... Giorno was actually lucky for never meeting his biological father !). Giorno seeks to take over the mafia and make it beneficial to the community rather than detrimental. To do so, he joins Passione, a mafia consisting of many stand users, with the intention of climbing up the ranks so that he can take over from the inside.
The gang Giorno joins, led by Bruno Bucciarati, has for first mission to protect the Boss's daughter and ensure she arrives safe.

Vento Aureo is as a whole a mixture of its 2 direct predecessors. It's not about a Jojo but a group of protagonists that the Jojo happens to be a part of (much like Stardust Crusaders ...) and the way the plot progresses is rather unexpected (like Diamond is unbreakable...) ; We go from Giorno wanting to join Passione to the gang mission to the war of gans between Passione and Nero's gang to ,FINALLY, a race for the final stand arrow . Add to that the way how most stands in this part are weapons and get more and more powerful (especially on the antagonists side) as the story advances.

PROS :

+ I really like the gang here. In fact , we get to know them with Giorno as we spend time reading about them (and no , Giorno himself is static because he's pretty much an established character from the get go. Hence why the narrative does not FOCUS on him ENTIRELY! And I have absolutely no problem with that, he did his job perfectly!). Once they have to protect Trish, Giorno is part of them and this is where the plot gets going ! I can't help but be reminded of the Ninja Turtles when I finished this arc. Seriously, the equation should go like this :
* Giorno Giovanna = Donatello (he may not do machines but he sure is the intellectual and cool-headed analytical member.)
* Bruno Bucciarati = Leonardo (He leads for starters! He also brilliantly pulls a Saint Seiya after his first confrontation against King Crimson ...)
* Leone Abbacchio = Raphael ( He is cool but crude... and no JoJo reader will disagree with this ! )
* Narancia Ghirga = Michaelangelo (the closest thing the group has to a party dude . Well, he is the target of enemy stands alright ...)
* Guido Mista = Casey Jones
* Trish Una = April O'Neil (and I'd love to see April fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/i/201… wear this static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__c… . More fitting , don't you think ? )
* Coco Jumbo ... Wait , this is an actual tortoise ?! FUCKING AWESOOOME !
+ La Squadra di Esecuzione is a pretty badass group of antagonists, especially their boss Risotto Nero ...
+ The main villain is actually a breath of fresh air ... In fact (up to this point...), Diavolo is easily the funniest JJBA bad guy, as well as the most cuckoo of the bunch. Hell , the humor comes from how over-complicated his plot to kill Trish was , while there were so many  instances where he would have won (and survived) by doing jack ! But seeing how he has serious temper issues (and I suspect his blood to be made out of caffeine, he does look like someone who lacks sleep.), he sends his most trustworthy agent , Vinegar Doppio ... who is HIMSELF ... And he treats Doppio as a completely separate person... I think Diavolo really needs counselling. Honestly, outside of the horrible crimes, he IS a capable leader but he's gone looney tuney due to NOT socialising enough , his outfit does reflect that ! static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__c…
Also ,dude, Doppio is not exactly that safe or unconspicious an agent ! See what all these years of navel-gazing did to you ?
BTW, King Crimson is not that hard to understand. The effects , however , depend on WHAT timeframe Diavolo erased !
+ Cioccolota kicked ass ! So did his ass-kicking by Giorno's Golden Experience !
+ Always nice to see Polnareff !

CONS :
- This arc takes a while before getting started . I felt it was average until Notorious B.I.G kicked in.
- Likewise, Bucciarati's gang do take a certain time to get used to ...
- Pannacota Fuugo was unnecessary/wasted as a character. I don't think Araki thought him effectively (maybe the anime might repair that, who knows ?).
- The stand  Arrow part should have been foreshadowed earlier or better than that ... Also, it would have been far better to have Nero, Cioccolata , Diavolo and the protagonists go full gang war in the last volume to get the last Arrow . But as it stands (hehe), I actually liked the final volume of Vento Aureo !
- About Golden Experience Requiem ... I am not that fond of the Boss's death though. Not that Diavolo did not deserve to pay for his crimes, but I seriously that his sanction was OVERKILL compared to the prior baddies. Hell, DIO and Yoshikage Kira weren't any less cruel (actually even more if I were only speaking about DIO!) and they somehow got away "easy", but The Boss gets the Kenny McCormick treatment ? COME ON ! Couldn't we save that for absolute scum like Griffith for example ? (one day... I will speak more seriously about Berserk ...).

The next part will be ... the final part of JoJo so to speak. And it will feature my personal favorite JoJo ... But to give a preview of what you might feel after reading it www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ubIhA…

"The only thing that matters in this world... is 'Reality'... the action I just performed with was a product of reality. And therefore these actions cannot be erased or destroyed. (SPOILERS) is dead. So are (SPOILERS) & (SPOILERS). But their actions and wills shall live on forever... They're the reason I have the arrow! So then... are your actions a part of 'Reality'? Or do they stem from nothing more than a 'Facade' of evil?"
"Don't lecture me, brat! Giorno Giovanna, once you're dead, you won't be able to regret your actions! GOT IT?!"
